Softcat provides organisations with workplace, datacentre, networking, and security solutions combined with all the services required to design, deliver and support these on-premise or in the cloud.

We caught up with representatives of our exhibitors Phillipa Winter,
Account Chief Technologist – OCTO and Billy Smith, Head of Integrated Care and Government at Softcat for an interview ahead of the upcoming Healthcare Excellence Through Technology (HETT) conference.

HETT: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, Phillipa/Billy. Tell us a bit about how your organisation currently supports the health and care sector.

Phillipa: Our experienced Healthcare and Local Government teams have merged to offer dedicated support to the Integrated Care System and partners. This will provide a cohesive range of technologies and consultancy services, to help organisations accomplish true digital transformation. We support organisations with dedicated, regionally aligned account managers, who hold a wealth of experience in the health and care sectors.

HETT: With both of your experiences, what are some of the biggest challenges that you have identified when working closely with your NHS/Care partners?

Phillipa & Billy: The biggest challenges across the board are interoperability, integration, legacy infrastructure, and cyber security. However, a theme running through all these is data, and how we manage, store, access, secure, visualise and share information. Workforce is a burning platform, and we can assist where technology needs to be adopted to support increased demand and free up valuable talent to provide care.

HETT: Tell us how working with your products and solutions can help tackle some of the challenges that exist within digital health.

Billy: We believe digital is key to health and care outcomes. The beauty of being a value-added reseller is that we can build solutions for these citizen outcomes, and we believe we have our customers at heart when supporting them to find the right technical solutions.

Working with Softcat means working in partnership. We want to be your first port of call and an extension of your team.

HETT: Brilliant! Speaking of partnerships, We will be hosting HETT Connect again this year, enabling speakers to meet with exhibitors on a 1:1 basis. Who are you hoping to meet?

Phillipa: We are hoping to meet a whole myriad of leaders in Health, Social Care, and technology. This includes clinicians, care professionals, technologists and C Suite executives who are interested in how technology can support transformation.

We also would like to talk to Integrated care partners about the benefits of interoperability, integration and rationalisation of solutions and infrastructure, to create a modern-day architecture to support collaboration in the Health and Social Care sectors.

HETT: As HETT Show approaches (27-28 Sept @ExCeL London), tell us what you are looking forward to the most at HETT Show 2022.

Phillipa & Billy: Meeting lots of people and understanding the challenges being faced on a day-to-day basis; especially how strategies are developing for organsiations around the formation of the Integrated Care model. To share our thought leadership and expertise as a valued added reseller, and to ensure we impart our knowledge and skill, to assist organisations in understanding the wealth of support that Softcat can bring.

HETT:
Thank you for your time today. It’s been a pleasure catching up with you both and learning more about how Softcat contributes to the evolution of the healthcare sector. We look forward to seeing you at HETT Show (27th & 28th September, ExCeL London)!
