Quest creates software solutions that make the benefits of new technology real in an increasingly complex IT landscape.

As an official HETT Show exhibitor, we caught up with the Director of Product Marketing at Quest, Ken Galvin to discuss IoT management, cyber security challenges, and asset management solutions for the healthcare sector.

HETT: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, Ken. Firstly, tell us a bit about the current healthcare landscape, and how your organisation currently supports the health and care sector.

Ken Galvin: It can be a challenge to find solutions that support growth while securing your diverse environment, so we make an effort to provide seamless systems management, systems deployment, and data protection solutions so that our customers in the Health and Care sector can gain peace of mind that all data and every endpoint is accounted for, updated and secured.

To hit the nail on the head – it’s all about automation. Healthcare providers want to have simple while comprehensive solutions from which they can manage all endpoints including servers, computers, non-computers, and IoT devices to streamline discovery, asset management, patching, and security. If we also add in the critical nature of patient information and associated data, there is a need for healthcare providers to ensure everything is secured. Quest and KACE solutions provide the flexibility to use automated modern and/or traditional management tools, cloud and/or on-premises architecture, subscription and/or licensing, and so on – when and where you need it - as they move through their digital transformation journey.

HETT: Considering the evolution and use of digital technologies in the sector, what are some of the biggest challenges that you have identified when working closely with your NHS/Care partners?

Ken Galvin: The need to manage all their devices – not just computers. The proliferation of IoT and mobile, non-computer devices in healthcare increases attack vectors for cybercriminals. Asset management is a challenge as we rely more on mobile devices.

The criticality and confidentiality of patient data provide challenges to ensure that access to data and systems is maintained at all times without compromise, often within complex environments. Ensuring that all devices and data are adequately protected through diverse and distributed environments can prove challenging at times.

HETT: Tell us how working with your products and solutions can help tackle some of the challenges that exist within digital health.

Ken Galvin: Working with KACE and Quest Solutions can help you streamline your IT management, simplify image deployment, and reliably automate your systems, security, and ensure the safety of protected data from malware, viruses, and ransomware.

Organizations using multiple, disparate endpoint management products to do patching, life cycle asset management, vulnerability assessment, compliance, and other tasks end up managing their management systems instead of their practice. KACE provides the “single pane of glass” for all OSs and devices as well as modern and traditional management methods. Alongside the management of all devices, the data that is created and consumed within a healthcare provider needs significant protection. Quest data protection solutions provide a single management interface to provide protection in complex environments in a simple to use way. With the flexibility of deployment, maintaining secure data repositories and role-based access controls Quest data protection solutions can meet healthcare challenges head-on.

HETT: We will be hosting HETT Connect again this year, enabling speakers to meet with exhibitors on a 1:1 basis. Who are you hoping to meet?

Ken Galvin: Everyone! We love to learn about best-in-class industry practices in IT and future trends that we can get ahead of in terms of helping the healthcare community.

HETT: As HETT Show approaches (27-28 Sept @ExCeL London), tell us what you are looking forward to the most at HETT Show 2022.

Ken Galvin: Not only provide solutions to problems but also understand the forthcoming challenges and changes within the healthcare sector to enable us to better serve our customers and meet their challenges head-on. And, of course, the invaluable one-on-one conversations with the folks who make it all happen.

HETT:
Thank you for your time today, Ken. It’s been a pleasure catching up with you and learning more about how Quest contributes to the evolution of the healthcare sector. We look forward to seeing you at HETT Show (27th & 28th September, ExCeL London)!Register for HETT 2022
