The landscape of women’s health is evolving rapidly, and 2025 promises to be a year of significant digital transformation. As technology, research, and policy move forward, the spotlight is on addressing the unique needs of women’s health across various domains—from reproductive and mental health to personalised healthcare solutions and gender data gaps.

At the heart of this transformation is the growing role of digital tools and innovations, particularly in AI-driven diagnostics, that are revolutionising how we approach female-specific conditions. These advancements open doors to more accurate diagnoses, better treatment outcomes, and, importantly, a more personalised approach to healthcare. But the journey doesn’t stop at technology. The disparities in healthcare for women, especially in underrepresented groups, must be addressed head-on to ensure that progress benefits all women, no matter their background.

Women's Health Takes the Spotlight at HETT 2025

This year, women’s health will take centre stage at HETT Show (Health Excellence Through Technology), a key event that will bring together leading experts, practitioners, and innovators from across the health and care sector. The newly formed Women’s Health Working Group is at the forefront of driving impactful conversations and creating a dynamic platform for change. Made up of leaders in the women’s health space, the group is committed to addressing critical issues, including disparities in care, technological advancements, and the future of healthcare for women.

By bringing together experts, patients, and innovators, the working group will explore new solutions that can help advance women’s health in a digital-first world.

Addressing Disparities and Advancements in Women’s Health

Despite significant progress, gender disparities in healthcare persist. Women's health conditions—especially those that are female-specific—are often overlooked, under-funded and under-researched.

One area of intense focus will be personalised healthcare solutions, where the goal is to design treatment plans tailored to the unique biological and social needs of women. These solutions are critical in addressing the nuances of female-specific conditions, such as menstrual health, pregnancy, and menopause, as well as more chronic issues like autoimmune diseases and cancer.

AI-driven diagnostics are also a game changer in the fight to improve women’s health. These tools have the potential to diagnose conditions more quickly, precisely, and at an earlier stage, ultimately saving lives. From reproductive health to mental health, AI-powered platforms are making strides in helping clinicians and the wider-public navigate healthcare with unprecedented accuracy.

In addition to these areas, there is a growing wave of innovation surrounding menopause and menstrual health. Menopause, once a widely under-discussed phase of life, is now receiving the attention it deserves, thanks to digital solutions that help women track symptoms, manage hormone levels, and access personalised treatment options. Wearables and mobile apps are helping women better understand their bodies during menopause, while AI-driven insights provide tailored recommendations for symptom management.

Similarly, advancements in menstrual health are empowering women with real-time data to understand their cycles and predict menstrual irregularities, making it easier to manage conditions like PMS and dysmenorrhea. These innovations not only enhance the quality of life but also create more open discussions around women's health issues that have historically been stigmatised, and topics surrounded by shame.
