With HETT Show 2025 just around the corner on 7–8th October at ExCeL London, the UK’s leading digital health event is set to bring together healthcare leaders, innovators, and practitioners for two days of insight, collaboration, and innovation. Ahead of the show, HETT’s Head of Content, Olivia Townsend, shared a sneak peek of what’s in store as a guest on The Briefing Room Podcast from The Ministry of Health Tech.

This blog highlights key insights from that conversation, giving you an inside look at new features, key themes, and practical tips to make the most of HETT Show 2025.

Roundtables for In-Depth Conversations

MOH: HETT Show is just around the corner. What can attendees expect this year?

Olivia Townsend: “One of the big new features is our Roundtable Space. We heard from the sector that there’s a real appetite for closed, Chatham House-style conversations, spaces where attendees can dive into the nitty-gritty without the pressure of a big audience.”

These intimate sessions provide a platform for open, honest dialogue and problem-solving, giving attendees insights they might not get in traditional panels or keynotes.

Workshops and Insight Zones

MOH: What about workshops and other learning opportunities?

Olivia: “Our Workshops and Insights Zone is bigger than ever, led by partners like the NHS Digital Academy, Fed IP, the Shuri Network, and the Digital Care Hub. These sessions cover everything from workforce and leadership to AI, patient engagement, and cybersecurity. Essentially, if it’s in the 10-year plan, it’s part of the content.”

These sessions offer actionable knowledge and practical advice to help attendees drive digital transformation in their organisations.

Spotlighting AI in Healthcare

MOH: Speaking of AI, what’s new on that front?

Olivia: “We’ve expanded our AI Spotlight, which showcases real-world case studies and evidence of AI working in health and care. It’s a great chance to see technology in action and learn how it’s being applied responsibly to improve patient outcomes.”

The AI Spotlight highlights tangible applications of emerging technology, providing inspiration for NHS staff and innovators alike.

Spaces to Recharge and Innovate

Host: HETT Show is a big event. How do you make it easier for attendees to navigate and take a break when needed?

Olivia: “We’ve introduced the Rest Stop, a dedicated area to relax, recharge devices, or take a call. Plus, the Startup Hub gives smaller innovators the chance to showcase their solutions, these are companies bringing fresh, exciting ideas into healthcare.”

These spaces are designed to make the show more manageable and engaging, while highlighting emerging talent.

Tips for First-Time Visitors

Host: Any practical tips for newcomers?

Olivia: “Registration opens at 9 AM, with QR-code badges accessible via the GovNet app. Our first sessions start around 9:30 AM across five theatres, including the Workforce, Adoption and Productivity Theatre, the Digital Maturity Theatre, and the Integrated Care Forum. Planning ahead is key, there’s so much content to explore!”

Networking and Behind-the-Scenes Insights

Host: Networking is a big part of HETT, right?

Olivia: “Absolutely. After the sessions, the Networking Lounge opens at 4 PM for drinks and informal connections, it’s open to everyone. We’ll also be running podcasts and interviews with key figures like Vin Diwakar, Alex Price-Forbes, and Helen Balsdon, so even if you can’t catch everyone in person, you won’t miss out on the insights.”

Final Words from Olivia

Host: Any final thoughts for attendees?

Olivia: “HETT Show 2025 is designed for everyone in health and care — whether you’re a CIO, CNIO, nurse, or emerging innovator. It’s not just about learning what’s next in digital health; it’s about being part of the conversation shaping the future of healthcare in the UK. Free tickets are available for NHS staff, so there’s no barrier to joining us and experiencing it firsthand.”
