IMS MAXIMS is an award-winning patient administration systems (PAS), electronic patient record systems (EPRs) and clinical technology specialist, committed to improving the coordination of patient care in healthcare environments.

As an official exhibitor for the upcoming Healthcare Excellence Through Technology (HETT) conference in September, we caught up with Neill McAnaspie, Chief Innovation Officer at IMS MAXIMS to discuss all things EPR's, the challenge of implementing new digital solutions and patient safety.

HETT: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, Neill. Tell us a bit about how your organisation currently supports the health and care sector.

Neill McAnaspie: MAXIMS is an all-encompassing, medical data platform and suite of mission-critical workflow solutions that cuts through complex and disparate healthcare provision settings by providing real-time insights to deliver seamless, cost-effective, and sustainable healthcare services without compromising medical best practices.

IMS MAXIMS enables healthcare organisations across the UK and Ireland to consistently improve the quality and safety of care delivery through the use of best-in-class and innovative technology. We strongly believe that collaboration is the key to delivering customers digital goals and aspirations.

HETT: What are some of the biggest challenges that you have identified when working closely with your NHS/Care partners?

Neill McAnaspie: Technology and digital solutions are fundamental enablers in healthcare to improve care, deliver effective outcomes, and efficient and safe patient care. The challenge of implementing new digital solutions which may impact working practice is significant. Technology is an enabler and will only achieve widespread adoption if the people impacted by change feel involved, understand, and are fully supported to a level of competence enabling them to perform their day-to-day tasks and duties.

HETT: Tell us how working with your products and solutions can help tackle some of the challenges that exist within digital health.

Neill McAnaspie: MAXIMS EPR was originally developed to provide a safe, paperless, clinical record supported by a comprehensive patient management solution. Our solution is used widely in the NHS in the UK, the HIE in Ireland as well as independent hospital groups or private hospitals. Our EHR was designed to deliver paper-lite end-to-end care and administration for patients. We use digital solutions to solve challenges to automate or improve the capture and display of relevant information wherever it's needed. MAXIMS provide a comprehensive clinical and administrative solution suitable for use in a variety of care setting from a departmental level to a group of hospitals. The IMS MAXIMS team are also experts at delivering integration allowing customers the choice to capitalise on past investment or support the clinician's choice of specialist system.

Delivering care is all about the patient and allowing the clinician the opportunity to interact, focus and then easily record their findings, interventions, or treatments. Technology can then be applied to turn unstructured text into structured text which in turn can be coded removing several steps from current processes. Allow the clinician to focus on patients, automating processes, and making information available when and where it's needed to highlight some of the clever ways the IMS MAXIMS team use modern technology to support clinicians in ways that make a difference in releasing time to care.

HETT:  We will be hosting HETT Connect again this year, enabling speakers to meet with exhibitors on a 1:1 basis. Who are you hoping to meet?

Neill McAnaspie: HETT Connect is a fantastic platform that enables speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors to network ahead of the event. There are so many inspirational speakers from across the healthcare sector on this year’s line-up that we would be honoured to meet with any one of them.

HETT: As HETT Show approaches (27-28 Sept @ExCeL London), tell us what you are looking forward to the most at HETT Show 2022.

Neill McAnaspie: HETT is an opportunity for the Digital Health community to come together for 2-days of educational sessions, interactive activities, and networking opportunities with other innovative suppliers and industry experts. Here at IMS MAXIMS we strongly believe that collaboration is the key to delivering our customer's digital goals and aspirations. We believe in openness, trust and honesty, agreed shared goals and values, and regular communication. Two days of face-to-face conversations with other innovative suppliers, industry experts, frontline healthcare workers, and prospective customers is certainly a highlight for us.

HETT:
